INSPIRATION
For the next assignment, I got inspired by Moldover, he designed this CD case using the PCB as the material. I thought that it acted like a CD player, then it turned out to be only decoration. But this also gave the idea that how about made a real music player out of CD case?
It doesn't have to play the real CD, I extended the idea a little bit, how about a CD out of a PCB? Our hands will be the needle that read the sound track! I mean, having beautiful etching copper traces like the image above, the CD case is begging me to touch it! I asked a lot of people on our floor, most of them once thought of touching the trace of circuit and its blue or green cover, which sounds like a human nature.
TESTING
I decided to use Capacitive Touch Sensor, I got a 12-Key Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout - MPR121 from Adafruit, it worked good.
But the problem is, it is retired...
So I had to change to another sensor: CAP1188 - 8-Key Capacitive Touch Sensor Breakout - I2C or SPI , this time I checked the digikey first to make sure they have storage:
